Information on the Battery Ordinance and the Packaging Ordinance
Some of the products we offer include batteries used, for example, to power quartz watches. Since these batteries and rechargeable batteries contain toxic heavy metals, disposal in household or residual waste is strictly prohibited. In connection with the sale of these batteries or rechargeable batteries, Schmuckatelier Peter Lang e.K., as a retailer under the Battery Supply Act, is obligated to inform our customers of the following:
Please dispose of used batteries as required by law – disposal in household waste is expressly prohibited by the Battery Ordinance – at a municipal collection point or hand them in to your local retailer free of charge. Batteries received from our studio can be returned to us after use free of charge at the address below or sent by post with sufficient postage to our store: Peter Lang, Goldschmied, Segringer Straße 14, 91550 Dinkelsbühl.
Batteries containing harmful substances are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out garbage can. Below this symbol is the chemical name of the harmful substance – e.g., benzene. E.g. “Cd” stands for cadmium, “Hg” for mercury and “Pb” for lead.
