With the Hanhart 417 ES, whose appended letter abbreviation stands for stainless steel, Hanhart is celebrating the return of the manufacturer's legendary stopwatch. You can't travel back in time with it, but we have combined the most exciting details from back then with the most modern materials of our time.

The PIONEER 417 is a kind of time machine, especially the model with the addition 1954 and the original case size as before: 39mm.

Its red position marking is just as reminiscent of the historical model as the details on the watch's dial. The layout and lettering on the dial seem to be cut straight from the early 417. The numbers, fonts and brand lettering from back then have also been reactivated.

THE LEGENDARY 417

Hanhart built the 417 according to these three criteria as the first pilot's chronograph for the newly founded German army. Hanhart supplied the German armed forces with the timepiece for almost ten years until the brand began to concentrate on building hand-held stopwatches in 1963. This traditional model has now been added back to the range.

Hanhart returns to the roots of its most famous chronograph and launches the new 417 ES 1954 in the original case size of 39 mm.
After the brilliant start of the reissue of the 417 ES with a 42 mm case almost two years ago, the traditional brand from Gütenbach in the Black Forest is now taking on the essence of the model: With the new 417 ES 1954, whose appended letters stand for “stainless steel” and the first year of production of the model, Hanhart is celebrating the return of its most legendary stopwatch in its historically correct size of 39 mm as part of the official, non-limited collection.

HIGHEST PRECISION

To ensure that the chronograph impresses with precision and reliability, the reliable hand-wound caliber SW510 in Swiss-made quality works behind the screwed stainless steel caseback. In addition to a stop-second function, it offers a power reserve of up to 58 hours when fully wound. The historic 417 was also wound by hand, but the new 417 ES 1954 has a case that is water-resistant to 10 bar.
