With the Hanhart 417 ES, whose appended letter abbreviation, as in the past, stands for Edelstahl (stainless steel), Hanhart celebrates the return of this legendary stopwatch.
The historical model for this hand-wound chronograph was designed for officers and medical personnel. Today, it combines the classic design of yesteryear with the most advanced manufacturing techniques of our time.

The stainless steel case of the Moby Dick now measures a contemporary 42 mm in diameter. The height did not exceed 13.3 mm. Hanhart's goal was to design the 417 ES as slim as possible so that it would be present but not disproportionate on the wrist. The result is a robust chronograph, ready for everyday life and adventure.

Tradition in Detail

A sharply drawn, highly polished chamfer marks the transition from the satin-finished lugs to the sides. The fluted bezel, a typical Hanhart design feature, rotates steplessly in both directions. However, on the Moby Dick, the position marker is not red, but matches the dial in color. The details on the dial, like the rest of the design, are reminiscent of the historic 1950s model.

Unique colors: Thermally blued hands

The thermally blued hands give the 417 ES Moby Dick a special effect. Depending on the light, the color changes in a fascinating way.
