The Swiss-German company Hanhart is one of the most important chronograph and stop watch manufacturers and has been synonymous with top-quality precision timekeeping for decades.

Once upon a time, founder Johan Adolf Hanhart, set out to launch the world’s first affordable stop watch. This succeeded. The first chronograph wrist-watches followed. The time pieces were used specifically in aviation and were very popular with pilots.

Even today, the original successful values of the brand are recognizable in all watches - functionality, thanks to good legibility and

operability & reliability due to robust construction. The special look of the Pilot's watches is never lost.

Racing in the blood

For safe and simple use in measuring time intervals or navigating in air and water, as well as for timing intermediate and final times or distances on land, maximum functionality, ease of use, and excellent legibility were paramount. Unnecessary gimmicks or design elements on the case and dial were undesirable. Hanhart continues to adhere to this maxim. For precise time display and measurement, the models in the Primus collection are equipped with an automatic caliber modified to display the totalizers at 3 and 9 o'clock. This caliber features a rotor skeletonized to resemble the Hanhart logo. This allows for a clear arrangement of the small seconds at 9 o'clock and the 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock – a display that has been common practice at Hanhart from the very beginning. The clear, generous design of the applied and polished Arabic numerals, the partially red indexes, the continuous minute scale and the polished hands coated with Super-LumiNova® contribute to perfect readability.

In homage to Hanhart's eventful history, the young PRIMUS collection confidently presents itself with progressive design and state-of-the-art technology. The hint of historical elements is reflected in this line in the red comfort pusher made of anodized aluminum and a strikingly fluted bezel. These innovative chronographs impress with their size, grip, and ease of use, and their solid, high-quality stainless steel cases meet all the requirements of a reliable, robust, and elegant watch. A strap made of the finest calfskin, canvas with a leather interior, or vulcanized rubber ensures optimal comfort on the wrist. A screw-down sapphire crystal case back reveals the fascinating interplay of the movement and the oscillating weight. It is based on an ETA7750 or Sellita SW 500 base movement, modified for the typical Hanhart dial design with totalizers at 3 and 9 o'clock.
